Job Description:

• Develop and prepare designs and drawings from preliminary concepts, sketches, specification sheets and other data
• Write specifications
• Complete documentation packages and produce drawing sets
• Examine drawings for conformity and errors
• Read and interpret blueprints, building plans and drawings
• Communicate with customers, if required, for clarification on plans or details
• Communicate with manager to complete designs and send them to production, in accordance with project timelines
• Operate computer-assisted design (CAD, REVIT, ARCHICAD) and drafting workstations

Requirements:

• Education: Completion of secondary school is required.
• Completion of a two- to three-year college program and/or courses in engineering design and drafting technology or in a related field is a strong asset.
• Experience: A minimum of 6 months to one year of experience as a drafting technologist and/or drafting training is required
• Strong computer and technology knowledge is required: Microsoft Office, Sketch UP & Auto CAD, Autodesk REVIT, ARCHICAD
• Type of drafting required: manual drafting, free-hand drafting, shop drawings, detailing drafting, presentation drawings

Salary: $28.85 to $30.00 hourly, 30- 40 hours per week.

Important Information:

The employee will work from Monday to Friday, from 9:00AM to 4:00PM. Flexibility in schedule is required to work extended hours/overtime and/or weekends on occasion to meet customer deadlines.
